Development of Sports Stadium in Sikar

Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to develop the sports stadium
located at Sikar district headquarters where international level facilities
on the sports ground are not available while the players belonging to
Sikar have gained international fame in basketball, volleyball, hockey
and athletics;
(b) whether the Government proposes to construct a cricket ground at
Sikar district headquarters; and
(c) if so, the time by which the said cricket ground is likely to be
constructed and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) No such proposals are under consideration in this Ministry.
Further, ‘Sports’ being a State subject, the responsibility of development
of sports, including development of sports stadium, rests primarily with
the respective State/Union Territory Governments. The Union
Government only supplements their efforts by bridging critical gaps. The
details of the sports infrastructure projects approved and their
sanctioned cost, funds released and their physical and financial
progress, under Khelo India Scheme and National Sports Development
Fund (NSDF) across the country, including in the Sikar district of the
State of Rajasthan, are available in public domain on the dashboards of
