SHRI THARANIVENTHAN M S: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE (कृ(cid:874)ष एव ं(cid:873)कसान क(cid:227)याण म(cid:287)ं ी) be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government will furnish the details of initiatives, pilots and projects implemented under the Digital Agriculture Mission, including the timeline of its approval, rollout and current status across States, State-wise including Arani constituency of Tamil Nadu and year-wise; (b) the details of funds allocated, released and utilised under the Mission during the last five years, along with the components covered such as digital land records, farmer registry, crop mapping, soil health data, advisory services and use of AI/remote sensing technologies (c) whether the Government has assessed the impact of the Mission on improving farm productivity, price discovery, risk management and access to credit and insurance, and if so, the findings thereof; and (d) the steps taken to ensure inclusive digital access for small and marginal farmers, particularly in Tamil Nadu, and to safeguard data privacy and interoperability of agricultural databases? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ(cid:874)ष एवं (cid:873)कसान क(cid:227)याण रा(cid:207)य मं(cid:287)ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR) (a): The Government approved the Digital Agriculture Mission in September 2024. The Mission envisages the creation of a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for Agriculture, such as AgriStack, Krishi Decision Support System, a Comprehensive Soil Fertility & Profile Map and other IT initiatives undertaken by the Central Government/State Government to enable a robust digital agriculture ecosystem in the country as a single source of truth for information on farmers, crops, livestock and fisheries and farmer centric digital solutions. The main features and their outcomes of the above initiatives are as follows:I. The AgriStack DPI consists of three foundational registries or databases associated with the agriculture sector, i.e., Farmer Registry, Geo-Reference Village Maps and the Crop Sown Registry, all created and maintained by the State Governments/ Union Territories. As of 16th July, 2026, more than 10.15 Crore Farmer IDs have been created. Out of these, 2,20,602 Farmers' IDs have been created in Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu, which includes Arani Constituency. During Rabi 2025-26, the Digital Crop Survey (DCS) was conducted in 648 Districts covering more than 31.3 crore plots across the country, including Tiruvannamalai district. The current status of Farmer IDs and year-wise DCS data (since inception) across the nation is given in Annexures I, IIA, IIB, IIC and IID. II. Krishi Decision Support System DPI has been developed, which is a geo-spatial platform that integrates satellite imagery, weather, soil, and crop data using Geographic Information System (GIS) to support agricultural planning and decision-making. III. A Nationwide Soil Resource Mapping project has been initiated by the Soil and Land Use Survey of India (SLUSI), for reserve inventory soils at a village level on a 1:10,000 scale using high-resolution satellite and ground data. As of June, 2026, a soil survey of 52.38 million hectares has been carried out across the country. IV. Digital General Crop Estimation System (DGCES) is a robust crop production estimation system that requires truthful and reliable data on area and yield. While the Digital Crop Survey provides crop sown area in near real-time, the new Digital General Crop Estimation System (DGCES) provides accurate and timely crop yield data for evidence-based crop production estimates. Across the country, Digitized Crop Cutting Experiments have been conducted in 43,105 villages during 2025-26.(b) The yearly funds released under the Digital Agriculture Mission (since inception) for various components, including the Farmer Registry, Digital Crop Survey (DCS), Digital Geospatial Crop Estimation System (DGCES), Soil Profile, and other activities at both the Central and State levels, are provided in Annexure–III. (c) The government consistently evaluates the outcomes of the mission. States are using Farmer IDs to ease the lives of farmers. Farmer ID has enabled the integration of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes such as registrations under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna (PM Kisan), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), Minimum Support Price (MSP) based procurement, access to credit delivery, input distribution, and disaster relief. (d) Although internet penetration has increased in rural areas of the country, including Tamil Nadu, additional steps have been taken to ensure the digital inclusion of farmers, including small & marginal farmers. They can use existing support structures like Farmer- Producer Organisations (FPOs), Krishi Sakhis, and Common Service Centres (CSCs) to get them registered on AgriStack and access services and benefits. Further, the States are organizing camps to create a Farmer’s Registry so that no farmer is left out of getting the benefits of AgriStack. Further, the State Farmer Registry is built in a federated architecture, which means the ownership of the data is with the respective States.
