ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH ANDFAMILY WELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (e): National Programme for Prevention & Management of Trauma and Burn Injuries (NPPMT&BI) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. During 11th Five Year Plan (2007-2012) and 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017) under the scheme, total 196 Trauma Care Facilities (TCFs) were sanctioned in Government Hospitals/ Medical Colleges across the country. The overallobjective of the scheme is to bring down preventable deaths due to road accidents by developinga Pan-India trauma care network. List of the 196 TCFsisattached at Annexure-I. Further, in the current scheme, there isnoprovision of identification of newtrauma care facilities. The financial support is in terms of release of the balance share of Central assistance within the total approved cost of the approved facilities/units. Emphasis is now more on capacity buildingof doctorsand paramedical staffon trauma management.
