Staffing Details:
Annexure II provides details of sanctioned, filled, and vacant posts in state-run ESI hospitals in Andhra Pradesh, district-wise.
Kakinada ESI Hospital has 160 sanctioned posts, with 29 filled and 131 vacant; 93 of the vacant posts are filled on a contractual basis.
Patient Footfall:
Annexure III presents district-wise details of total patient footfall (outpatient and inpatient) at each ESI hospital in Andhra Pradesh from 2020-21 to 2024-25.
Medical Technology Upgradation:
The Medical Services Department of the State Government of Andhra Pradesh has formed an Expert Committee to assess existing medical and laboratory equipment in ESI hospitals.
Based on the Committee's recommendations, the Department of Medical Services submitted a proposal to the State Government, which has been approved.

(a)the details of the total number of Employees' State Insurance (ESI)
Hospitals proposed, under construction/expansion and presently
functioning in Andhra Pradesh, district-wise;
(b)the details of the total fund allocated, released and utilised over
the last five years for ESI Hospitals in Andhra Pradesh, district-
wise;
(c)the positions sanctioned, filled and presently vacant in each ESI
Hospital in Andhra Pradesh, district-wise;
(d)the details of the total patient footfall at each ESI hospital in
Andhra Pradesh over the last five years, district-wise; and
(e)whether any periodic surveys of ESI hospitals have been
conducted for upgradation of existing medical technology and
instruments utilised/conduced, if so, the details thereof and if not,
the reasons therefor?

(a): The details of Employees' State Insurance (ESI)
Hospitals proposed, under construction / expansion and presently
functional in Andhra Pradesh, district-wise, is at Annexure -I.
(b) to (d): For making adequate provisions of medical services to ESI
beneficiaries, ESIC releases consolidated funds to State Government
under ‘On Account’ payment. Separate hospital wise fund is not
allocated by ESIC. The details of fund released and utilized during
2020-21 to 2024-25 were as under: -

Further, one ESIC hospital was made functional in
Kakinada district w.e.f. 09.02.2024. During 2024-25, Rs. 18.83 Crore

details of patient footfall at each ESI hospital in Andhra Pradesh,

(e): Medical Services Department of State Government of
Andhra Pradesh has constituted Expert Committee to evaluate the
condition and functionality of existing medical and laboratory
equipment in ESI hospitals. Based on the recommendation of the
Committee, Department of Medical Services submitted the proposal
to State Government. The State Government has approved the
proposal.
