Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleased tostate:
(a) whether any proposal is under consideration by the Union Government to establish a
national-level medical institution like AIIMS in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh under
the 'Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana' (PMSSY) to provide advanced and
affordable medicalfacilities,if so, the detailsthereof;
(b) whether any official proposal or correspondence has been received by the Union
Government from the State Governments regarding the availability or identification of
landfor setting upAIIMS Institutions inMaharashtra andMadhya Pradesh;
(c) the total financial assistance provided by the Union Government during the last three
years for the expansion of Super Speciality Blocks in major Government and municipal
hospitals inthe said Statesto reduce the immense burdenof patients;
(d) the details of projects currently sanctioned for the upgradation of other medical colleges
inthe said Statesunderthe PMSSYscheme; and
(e) the future roadmap of the Union Government for the coming years to further strengthen
tertiaryhealthcare andboost medicalresearch inthe said States?

(a) to (e) Under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), one AIIMS each has
been established at Nagpur in Maharashtra and at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and both the
institutes are functional. These AIIMS are functional with teaching learning & research,
IPD/OPD facilities, emergency & trauma, diagnostic facilities, various Specialty and Super-Specialty Departments, AMRIT pharmacy, Jan Aushadhi Kendra etc. Promoting quality
research and innovation in bio-medical field is a key focus area of new AIIMS. Indian
Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Department of Science & Technology (DST) have
beenprovidingresearch grantsfor taking upresearch projectsinnewAIIMS.
Under National Health Mission (NHM), financial and technical support is provided to the
States/UTs to strengthen their healthcare infrastructure based on the requirements posed by
the States/UTs in their Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs) within their overall resource
envelope. The State Program Implementation Plan (SPIP) approval for infrastructure
strengthening under National HealthMission (NHM) from the FY2023-24 to2025-26 for the
Stateof Maharashtra and Madhya Pradeshisgivenbelow:
