EXPRESSWAY PROJECTS PASSING THROUGH GUJARAT AND MAHARASHTRA
3761. SHRI BABUBHAI JESANGBHAI DESAI:
Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state:-
(a) whether any expressway projects passing through the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat are presently
under survey, feasibility study or detailed project report preparation stage under the Bharatmala
Pariyojana or any other national highway development programme;
(b) if so, the details of such proposed expressway corridors, including their tentative length, estimated
cost and the districts likely to be covered in the said States;
(c) whether Government proposes to accord priority to these projects with a view to improve regional
connectivity, boosting industrial growth and facilitating faster movement of goods and passengers; and
(d) the likely timeline for finalisation and commencement of these projects?

(a) to (d) Government keeps on undertaking feasibility study/Detailed Project Report(DPR) for new
greenfield/brownfield Expressway/Access Controlled Highway/Upgradation of National Highways in
the country including the States of Gujarat and Maharashtra. This is with the aim to ensure connectivity
between economic centers, regional connectivity, reduction in logistic cost, connectivity to backward
areas, religious places across the country etc. Decision for project implementation and investment is
taken based on the outcome of DPR, requirement of connectivity and synergy with PM Gati Shakti
National Master Plan.As far as Expressway projects passing through the States of Maharashtra and
Gujarat is concerned, following Expressway/Access Controlled Highway projects have been approved
by Government since 2024:
