SHRI K E PRAKASH: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has any proposal under consideration to extend the 66601/02 Coimbatore–Erode MEMU train service up to Salem via Karur and Namakkal; (b) if so, the details of the proposal and the present status of its examination; (c) whether the Government is aware that such an extension would significantly benefit students from Kumarapalayam, Namakkal due to improved daily commuting facilities; and (d) whether the Government also recognizes that the proposed extension would facilitate pilgrims visiting the temples in Namakkal and improve regional connectivity and if so, the steps being taken in this regard?
