SHRI AZAD KIRTI JHA: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS कृ िष और िकसान क(cid:670)ाण मं(cid:361)ी be pleased to state: (a) the details and total number of farmer deaths reported across the country during the last five years including reasons thereof (e.g., crop failure, debt, climate distress), State/UT-wise; (b) whether the Government maintains data on the number of deceased farmers and families who have received compensation during the above period under State or centrally sponsored schemes; (c) if so, the details of sanctioned and pending applications and if not, the reasons therefor, State/UT-wise; and (d) the amount of financial assistance provided to affected families and the details of the applications which have been rejected due to procedural disqualification, State/UT- wise? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष और िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR) (a) to (d): The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs compiles and disseminates information on suicides in its publication titled ‘Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India’ (ADSI). The report till 2023 is available on NCRB website (https://ncrb.gov.in). The ADSI Report does not specify separate reasons for farmers suicide. Reasons for suicides are wide ranging. Agriculture is a State Subject. Ex gratia or relief is provided by State Governments as per their respective provisions and rules. *****
