Parliament Question: Farmers from Hazaribagh Benefitted under PMFBY

SHRI MANISH JAISWAL : Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण मं(cid:361)ी be pleased to state: (a) the number of farmers registered under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in the Hazaribagh Lok Sabha constituency during the last three years ; (b) the number of farmers who received claim amounts ; and (c) the total amount disbursed during the above period ? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR) (a) to (c): Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is voluntary for the States as well as farmers. State of Jharkhand implemented the scheme from 2016-17 to 2019- 20 and did not implement thereafter. Govt. of Jharkhand re-joined the scheme in Kharif 2024. During 2024-25 and 2025-26, a total of 2,84,615 farmers have been enrolled under the scheme in Hazaribagh and Ramgarh Districts with a total area of 1,92,952 Ha under PMFBY. Claims of Rs.22.91 lakh have become payable during this period but is pending due to pending release of subsidy by State Government. *****
