Shri Selvaganapathi T.M.: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) whether the promised 125 days of employment is to be financed with the outlay provided under Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB-G RAM G), if so, the details and purpose of allocating Rs. 30,000 crore provision for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS); (b) the time by which the MGNREGS would formally repeal by notification and VB-G RAM G would start its function and normative allocations would be brought into effect along with guidelines especially on cost sharing, State wise; and (c) whether the States were apprised of their required 40 per cent share while preparing their respective Budgets along with Union Budget? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a): The Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, provides to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work, not less than one hundred and twenty-five days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year. For the financial year 2026–27, a Central share provision of ₹95,692.31 crore has been made for the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), representing the largest allocation ever, for rural employment at Budget Estimate Stage. With the inclusion of the corresponding estimated State share, the total programme outlay is likely to exceed ₹1.51 lakh crore, which is Page 1 of 2expected to significantly accelerate rural transformation, large-scale employment generation and income enhancement in rural areas. In accordance with sub-section (5) of section 37 of the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G) Act of 2025, this provision of funds amounting to Rs. 30,000 crores has been made for the smooth transition from the Mahatma Gandhi NREGS to the VB-G RAM G Scheme. This is expected to meet the financial commitments under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS till the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G) Act commences. (b): As per sub-section (1) of Section 37 of the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, together with all rules, notifications, Schemes, orders and guidelines made thereunder, shall stand repealed on such date as the Central Government may, by notification, appoint in accordance with Sub-Section (2) of Section 1 of the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025. (c): In accordance with the sub-sections (2) & (3) of section 22 of the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, the fund sharing pattern between the Centre & State has already been mentioned in the Act and all States/ UTs have also been apprised about the funding pattern under the VB- G RAM G Act, during various meetings conducted with all States/ UTs post-enactment of the VB-G RAM G Act. ***** Page 2 of 2
