ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN)
(a): The Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission
(Gramin): VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, provides to every rural household
whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work, not less
than one hundred and twenty-five days of guaranteed wage
employment in a financial year.
For the financial year 2026–27, a Central share provision of
₹95,692.31 crore has been made for the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for
Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), representing the largest
allocation ever, for rural employment at Budget Estimate Stage. With
the inclusion of the corresponding estimated State share, the total
programme outlay is likely to exceed ₹1.51 lakh crore, which is
Page 1 of 2expected to significantly accelerate rural transformation, large-scale
employment generation and income enhancement in rural areas.
In accordance with sub-section (5) of section 37 of the Viksit
Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM
G) Act of 2025, this provision of funds amounting to Rs. 30,000 crores
has been made for the smooth transition from the Mahatma Gandhi
NREGS to the VB-G RAM G Scheme. This is expected to meet the
financial commitments under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS till the Viksit
Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM
G) Act commences.
(b): As per sub-section (1) of Section 37 of the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025
the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act,
2005, together with all rules, notifications, Schemes, orders and
guidelines made thereunder, shall stand repealed on such date as the
Central Government may, by notification, appoint in accordance with
Sub-Section (2) of Section 1 of the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025.
(c): In accordance with the sub-sections (2) & (3) of section 22 of
the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, the fund sharing pattern between the
