Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government recognises the significant role of the
staffing industry in formal job creation; and
(b) if so, the details of the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the
Government to ensure that sectors like retail, logistics, Information
Technology (IT), e-commerce, etc., increasingly turn to staffing
companies to meet seasonal demands and scale their workforce as
per their requirement?

(a) to (b): Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, is
running the National Career Service (NCS) Portal which is a one-stop
solution for providing career related services including information on
jobs from private and government sectors, information on online &
offline job fairs, job search & matching, career counselling, vocational
guidance, information on skill development courses, skill/training
programmes etc. through a digital platform [www.ncs.gov.in].
As on date, more than 48 lakh active employers from diverse sectors like
retail, logistics, Information Technology (IT), e-commerce, etc. are
registered on the NCS Portal. These employers notify their vacancies in
accordance with their requirements and, through NCS portal’s job-
matching facility, these employers are able to identify suitable
candidates from an extensive database comprising over 1.28 crore
active jobseekers.
