GOVERNMENTOFINDIA MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE DEPARTMENTOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE RAJYASABHA UNSTARREDQUESTION NO. 2855 TOBE ANSWERED ON 17TH MARCH, 2026 FUNDS ALLOCATEDBYNHM IN GUJARAT 2855# SHRINARHARI AMIN: Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleasedtostate: (a) the funds allocated and utilized under the National Health Mission (NHM) since its inception,State-wise,includingGujarat; (b) whether Government has taken or proposes to take any steps to allocate additional funds to strengthen theNationalHealthMissionandmakeitmoreeffective; (c) if so, the details thereof; and (d) the number of Community Health Centers (CHCs) and Public Health Centers (PHCs) established inGujarat since the inceptionof the NHM? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (d): With the objective of attainment of universal access to equitable, affordable and quality health care services, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) is implementing National Health Mission (NHM). Government provides technical and financial support to the States/UTs for improvement in health infrastructure, availability of adequate human resources to health facilities, to improve availability and accessibility to quality health care especially for the underserved and marginalized groups. Based on the proposals received from the State/UT Governments in the form of Programme Implementation Plans under NHM, Government of India provides approval for the proposals in the form of Record of Proceedings as per norms & available resources. Allocation under NHM hasincreased from Rs.31,100.00 Cr.inFY2021-22 to Rs. 37,226.92Cr.inFY2025-26 Budget Estimate. The details of State/UT-wise funds released and utilized under NHM since its inception to F.Y.2024-25 isat Annexure.Release of funds under NHM is subject to compliance by States/UTs of the guidelines prescribed in thisregardbyDepartment of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
