(a) the details and current level of capital investment made in agriculture, including the
allocation of funds for irrigation, drip irrigation and others, the detail thereof;
(b) the measures taken by the Government to enhance private and public capital investment
in agriculture, including the provision of incentives and subsidies; and
(c) the details of the schemes and programs implemented by the Government to promote
more investments into agriculture including setting up of cold storage facilities?

(a) to (c): The current level of capital investment in agriculture is substantial, with various
sources contributing to its growth. Agriculture is a State subject. Government of India
supports States through various Centrally Sponsored and Central Sector Schemes. The
details of Schemes of Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) is given in
Annexure.
The Government has substantially enhanced the budget allocation of DA&FW from
Rs. 21,933.50 crore BE during 2013-14 to Rs. 1,27,290.16 crore BE during 2025-26.
The Gross Value Added (GVA) in agriculture and allied sectors rose by 4.6% in
2024-25 as per provisional estimate of Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation,
indicating an increase in investment.
Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) has mobilised an investment of Rs.107502/-
crore (as on 30.06.2025) in the agriculture sector supporting various projects such as
custom hiring centers, primary processing units, warehouses, sorting and grading units, cold
storages etc.
Additionally, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) supports
Post-Harvest Management Infrastructure including cold storage, cold room facilities for
horticultural produce @ 35% of the project cost in general areas and 50% in case of hilly
and scheduled areas per beneficiary is available. The component is demand/entrepreneur
driven through commercial ventures for which Government assistance is credit linked and
