Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government received any requests/proposals for sanction of funds for
development of Chitradurga Fort, Chandravalli caves and development of other Cultural
Places in Chitradurga;
(b) if so, the details along with the steps taken/being taken by the Government for sanction of
funds thereof; and
(c) the details of funds sanctioned thereof during the last five years and the current year, year
and project-wise?

(a) During the current financial year, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has not received any
to request proposals for sanction of funds for the development of Chitradurga Fort and development
(c) of other cultural places in Chitradurga.
Chandravalli caves at Chitradurga district is not a protected monument of ASI.
However, during the year 2015-16, ASI received a proposal under the Civil Deposit Works
towards conservation, developmental and public amenities at Chitradurga Fort for a total amount
of Rs. 8.11 crores. In the year 2021, the Department of Tourism, Govt. of Karnataka released an
amount of Rs. 1.43 crores out of Rs 8.11 crores towards the work of conservation, developmental
and public amenities at Chitradurga Fort. Details are given at Annexure –I.
Apart from these, the expenditure incurred on maintenance, conservation and preservation of
monuments/sites during the last five years in Chitradurga District are given at Annexure-II.Annexure –I
