Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the total budget allocated under the Group Water Supply Scheme during the
financial year 2025-26?
(b) the details of the funds released so far along with the additional funds likely to be sanctioned
under the scheme, State-wise;
(c) the details of the funds demanded (proposed projects/ financial need) by the States
especially Chhattisgarh thereunder;
(d) the details of the funds sanctioned/ released to Chhattisgarh so far and the population
targeted for providing benefits under this scheme; and
(e) whether any monitoring mechanism has been put in place to assess the quality of supplied
water, stability and operation under the scheme and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d) Funds have been allocated to States under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) till FY 2024-25.
No funds have been allocated under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) during Financial Year 2025-26.
To achieve the goal of the Mission with focus on quality of infrastructure and Operation &
Maintenance of rural piped water supply schemes for long term sustainability and citizen
centric water service delivery, Hon'ble Finance Minister during her budget speech 2025-26 has
announced extension of Jal Jeevan Mission until 2028 with enhanced total outlay.
The State-wise details of the funds released so far i.e. from FY 2019-20 to F.Y 2024-25 are
annexed. It is targeted to provide potable tap water supply in 49.98 lakh rural households
covering an estimated 2.5 Crore people (average 5 people per household) of Chhattisgarh.
Page 1 of 8(e) Govt. of India has been regularly reviewing the implementation of JJM in States/ UTs.
Several meetings including conferences, workshops, review meetings through video
conferences, field visits, etc. are held from time to time for capacity building and knowledge
sharing, to provide technical support, etc. Review meetings are conducted at the levels of
Hon’ble Union Minister, Secretary to Govt. of India, Chief Secretary and Senior officers.
During these reviews, States/ UTs are advised to expedite the implementation of JJM in the
States/UTs. Under JJM, technology is utilized to ensure transparency and accountability.
Physical and financial progress is reported on JJM–Integrated Management Information
Systems (IMIS) and all tap water connections provided, are to be linked with Aadhar number
of the head of the household. Provisions have also been made for geo-tagging of assets created
under the JJM, and third–party inspection to check the quality of work. In addition, Mobile
App, Water Quality Monitoring Information System (WQMIS), etc. are also being used for
monitoring purposes. Further, third-party functionality assessments are also carried out by the
Government of India across the States/UTs. Reports are shared with the States/ UTs for taking
corrective action, if any.
