GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TOURISM LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.3460 ANSWERED ON 10.08.2026 HRIDAY PROJECTS 3460. SHRI BAIJAYANT PANDA: Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state: (a) the details of number of Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) projects sanctioned and completed as on March 2026; (b) the details of funds released, expenditure incurred and timelines achieved under the said scheme, State/UT-wise; (c) whether any projects under HRIDAY have experienced delays and if so, the reasons therefor; and (d) the details of measures taken or proposed to be taken by the Government to expedite delayed projects and enhance citizen engagement in heritage conservation? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (d): Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) scheme was implemented by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs and the mission concluded on 31.3.2019. The Ministry of Tourism is not implementing the HRIDAY scheme. The mission has ended on 31.3.2019 and its Heritage component has been merged in the scheme "National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)" under Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry of Tourism under the “Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive” (PRASHAD) Scheme provides financial assistance to the State Governments (SGs) and Union Territory Administrations (UTAs) for development of tourism related infrastructure at identified religious and heritage sites across the country. Under the PRASHAD Scheme the Ministry seeks to develop tourism infrastructure ina holistic and sustainable manner with the objective of boosting tourism, conserving local culture and strengthening the local economy across the country. The projects sanctioned under the PRASHAD Scheme are implemented by respective State Governments/ UT Administrations. The Ministry of Tourism regularly monitors the progress of projects and also encourages respective State Governments/ UT Administrations to complete the projects in a time bound manner.
