Implementation of Fit India Movement in Chhattisgarh
2476. Smt. Roopkumari Choudhary:
Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) the details of programmes and activities conducted under the Fit
India Movement in the State of Chhattisgarh since its inception, along
with number of events organised and participants covered, district-wise;
(b) the details of funds allocated, released and utilised under the said
Movement in Chhattisgarh during the last five years and the current
year, district-wise;
(c) the number of schools, colleges, educational institutions, Gram
Panchayats and other organisations registered and certified under the
said Movement in Chhattisgarh, district-wise;
(d) the details of measures taken/being taken by the Government to
increase participation of women, youth, tribal communities and persons
with disabilities in the Fit India Movement in Chhattisgarh; and
(e) the details of steps taken by the Government to strengthen the
implementation of the said Movement in aspirational, rural and tribal
districts of Chhattisgarh?

(a) to (e) The Fit India Movement is being implemented across the
country, including in the State of Chhattisgarh, with the objective of
encouraging citizens to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle through
regular physical activity and fitness.
Page 1 of 2Under the Movement, various fitness promotion and community
engagement activities have been undertaken in Chhattisgarh from time
to time, including Sundays on Cycle, Fit India awareness and outreach
activities during the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026, observance of
National Sports Day, World Bicycle Day, International Women's Day,
International Yoga Day, and other fitness-related campaigns. These
initiatives are implemented through partnerships with educational
institutions, local bodies, sports organisations, youth organisations and
community stakeholders to promote mass participation in fitness.
The Government has also taken several measures to enhance the
participation of women, youth, tribal communities and other sections of
society through targeted outreach, awareness campaigns and inclusive
community-based fitness initiatives. Special emphasis is being placed on
expanding the reach of the Movement in aspirational, rural and tribal
areas through convergence with local institutions and stakeholders.
Funds are allocated and released Scheme-wise and not component-wise
and State-wise under the Khelo India Scheme in this Ministry. The
details of funds allocated and expenditure incurred under the Khelo India
Scheme during the last five years and the current year, across the
country, including in the State of Chhattisgarh, are as under:
