Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the total funds sanctioned for the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission
(JJM) in Manipur since its launch till date;
(b) the details of the funds, out of the total sanctioned funds, utilised for providing functional tap
water connections to the 3,33,539 households under JJM between 15th August, 2019 to 28th July,
2025; and
(c) the details of the sources of the said utilised funds?

(a) to (c) Since August 2019, Government of India in partnership with States is implementing Jal
Jeevan Mission (JJM) – Har Ghar Jal to make provision of potable water to every rural household of
the country, including those in the State of Manipur, through functional tap water connection.
At the time of announcement of JJM, 0.26 lakh (5.74%) rural households were reported to have tap
water connections in the State of Manipur. So far, as reported by the State as on 18.08.2025, more
than 3.33 lakh additional rural households have been provided with tap water connections. Thus, as
on 18.08.2025, out of 4.51 lakh rural households, more than 3.59 lakh (79.59%) households are
reported to have tap water supply in their homes.
Drinking water being a State subject, under JJM, responsibilities for planning, approval,
implementation, operation and maintenance of drinking water supply schemes lie with State/ UT
governments. Government of India supplements the efforts of the State/ UT Government by
providing technical and financial assistance. Year-wise details of Central fund allocated through
