IMPLEMENTAION OF MSE CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:
(a) the number of clusters identified under the Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster
Development Programme across the country, particularly in the State of Andhra Pradesh,
along with location of cluster and sector details;
(b) the number of Common Facility Centres established under the programme in the State,
district-wise;
(c) the details of projects approved under the scheme, including new Industrial
Infrastructure Development Projects and upgradation of existing industrial estates in the
State, district-wise; and
(d) the district-wise funds allocated, released and utilised for these projects in the State, along with
their present status and employment generated?

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME.
(a) to (d): The Micro and Small Enterprises - Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) is a
Central Sector Scheme aimed at enhancing productivity and competitiveness of MSMEs through
cluster-based interventions. Under the scheme, Common Facility Centre (CFC) proposals are identified
by MSME stakeholders and forwarded by State Governments after due examination, while
Infrastructure Development (ID) projects are identified by State Governments and recommended for
approval. Government grants are released in phases, based on the progress of the projects.
In all 606 projects have been approved in the country under MSE-CDP, of which 47 projects are
in Andhra Pradesh. These include 11 Common Facility Centres and 36 Infrastructure Development
projects. Out of 47 projects approved in Andhra Pradesh, 5 CFCs and 12 Infrastructure Development
projects stand completed and are operational. As per information received from State Government,
these projects have generated employment of approximately 8300 Nos. in CFC Projects and 57793
Nos. in ID Projects.
The details of common facility centers, new Industrial Infrastructure Development Projects and
upgradation of existing industrial estates in Andhra Pradesh, district-wise approved projects along with
cluster location and sector are enclosed as Annexure.
