2925. Shri Dushyant Singh:
Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the status of implementation of the new phase of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), including houses sanctioned and completed during Financial Year 2024โ25 and 2025โ26 particularly in various districts of Rajasthan;
(b) whether a review has been undertaken of fund utilisation and progress towards the target of constructing two crore additional houses by 2028โ29, if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether convergence between PMAY-G and the Viksit BharatโG RAM G Act, 2025 is being explored to integrate rural housing construction with employment generation and align labour demand under PMAY-G with the priority areas of the new Act;
and
(d) whether, considering the pool of trained skilled masons created under the Rural Mason Training (RMT) programme under PMAY- G, any steps are being taken to deploy and integrate such trained manpower within the framework of the VB-G RAM G, Act to enhance quality and productivity? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (DR. CHANDRA SEKHAR PEMMASANI)
(a): The Ministry of Rural Development is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) w.e.f. 1st April, 2016 to construct 4.95 crore houses by March 2029 (including the target of the previous phase i.e. 2.95 crore houses) by providing assistance to eligible rural households with basic amenities to attain the goal of โHousing for All. The Ministry of Rural Development has allocated a target of 4.14 crore houses to the States/UTs under PMAY-G, against which more than 3.89 crore houses have been sanctioned by the Page 1 of 3States/UTs and more than 2.97 crore houses have been completed as on 05.03.2026.
The State of Rajasthan has been allocated a total target of 24,97,121 houses, out of which 24,32,908 houses have been sanctioned by the State and 18,75,364 houses have been completed as on 05.03.2026. A district-wise list of houses sanctioned and completed in Rajasthan during the year 2024-25 and 2025-26 is given at Annexure.
(b): The Ministry regularly conducts Expenditure Review Meetings with the States/UTs to review the progress of expenditure under the scheme. Continuous monitoring is undertaken and necessary guidance and support are extended to the States/UTs to enhance the pace of expenditure and ensure timely release and utilization of funds. These efforts are aimed at facilitating expeditious implementation of the scheme so that the intended benefits reach the eligible beneficiaries at the earliest.
(c) & (d): Yes. Priority has been made for employment generation for PMAY-G in Schedule I of Viksit BharatโGuarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): VB-G RAM G Act, Para 4(2), (b) Category II-Core Rural Infrastructure-(viii) rural housing works permissible under the schemes of the Central Government, including those permitted under the PMAY-G. Further, in the Para 6 of the Schedule-I of the Act, (i), beneficiaries under the PMAY-G have been included in the list of eligible individual beneficiary.
