Parliament Question: Implementation of Nikshay Poshan Yojana under the NTEP

GOVERNMENT OFINDIA MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE DEPARTMENTOFHEALTH ANDFAMILYWELFARE RAJYASABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1216 TO BE ANSWERED ON10thFEBRUARY2026 IMPLEMENTATIONOFNIKSHAYPOSHANYOJANAUNDER THE NTEP 1216SMT.GEETAALIAS CHANDRAPRABHA Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleased tostate: (a) the number of tuberculosis (TB) patients registered under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), along with details of the number of patients who have received the monthlynutritionalassistance inthe last three years, State-wise; (b) whether, despite an increase in nutritional support, a number of TB patients have faced delaysor non-receiptof payments, andif so, the reasons therefor; and (c) the steps being takenby Government to ensure timely Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) toall eligible TBpatientsunderthe scheme,and the timelinefor clearingallpendingpayments? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SMT. ANUPRIYAPATEL) (a) to (c) The Government has implemented TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (National TB Elimination Programme, under the aegis of National Health Mission (NHM) across the country. Under the programme, Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana (NPY) for nutritional assistance to TB patientswas introduced inApril 2018. The State-wise details of TB cases notified andthe number of patients who have received the NPY in the last three years, State-wise, as per reportedinNi-kshay portal by the State/UTs isplacedasAnnexure.
