Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AI\D EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has evaluated the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit
Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) in the country, particularly in terms of infrastructure
development, livelihood generation and educational support in Scheduled Caste-dominated
areas;
(b) if so, the total number of villages selected and developed as model villages under PMAJAY
including Odisha;
(c) the details of funds allocated and utilized since the launch of the scheme in2023, Statewise;
(d) whether any Scheduled Caste-dominated villages have been covered under PM-AJAY or its
earlier components, particularly in Balangir district; and
(e) if so, the outcomes achieved in terms of livelihood assistance, skill training and access to
basic amenities?

(a): Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) is a Centrally Sponsored
Scheme being implemented since 2021-22. The Scheme has three components namely (i)
'Adarsh Gram', (ii)'Grants-in-aid for District/State-level Projects for Socio-Economic
betterment of Schedule<i Caste(SC)Communities' and (iii) 'Hostel'. For effective implementation
and monitoring, a centralized Management Information System (MIS) portal has been developed
to capture real-time data for each component of the scheme. The implementation of the scheme
is monitored through regular reviews, state-wise performance tracking, and oversight by
committees at the Central, State, and Village levels. Also, impact assessment has been taken up
by NITI Ayog.
(b):
Under the Adarsh Gram component of the PM-AJAY scheme, 29,907 villages have been
selected, out of which 12,175 villages have been declared as Adarsh Gram. In Odisha, 1,456
villages have been selected, of which 978 villages have been declared as Adarsh Gram.(c): The State wise details of central assistance released under PM-AJAY scheme since202l-22
is at Annexure.
(d) & (e): In Balangir district, under Adarsh Gram component of PM-AJAY, 30 villages have
been identified, out of these 23 villages have been declared as Adarsh Gram by undertaking
works like construction of CC roads, Anganwadis, toilets, drains, street lights, soak pits, solar
lights, hand pumps etc. Under Grants-in-Aid component of PM-AJAY scheme,l2l beneficiaries
benefitted under skill training intervention and 99 beneficiaries benefitted under livelihood
assistance intervention and 20 projects have been approved under infrastructure development
intervention.
