Parliament Question: Implementation of Samarth Scheme in Andhra Pradesh

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TEXTILES RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO-3358 ANSWERED ON- 20/03/2026 IMPLEMENTATION OF SAMARTH SCHEME IN ANDHRA PRADESH 3358. SHRI SANA SATHISH BABU: Will the Minister of TEXTILES be pleased to state: (a) the funds allocated, released and utilised under Samarth scheme for Implementing Partners (IPs) located in Andhra Pradesh during last five years, year-wise; (b) the number of candidates trained, assessed, certified and placed (with placement per cent and average monthly wage post-placement) by IPs located in Andhra Pradesh, course-wise, district-wise; (c) the number of training centres/Implementing Partners approved in Andhra Pradesh with details of segments covered; and (d) the measurable impact on employment generation and capacity building in Andhra Pradesh? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF TEXTILES (SHRI GIRIRAJ SINGH) (a) to (d): Samarth is a demand-driven, placement-oriented skilling program aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). Central Sector Scheme is designed to incentive and support industry efforts in generating employment opportunities across the organized textile and related sectors. The scheme covers the entire textile value chain, excluding Spinning and Weaving. A total of 12 implementing partners (IP’s) has been implementing the scheme with 37 active training centers in state of Andhra Pradesh. The scheme is implemented across India and does not provide state-specific fund allocation. As on 10 March 2026, a total of 14,080 beneficiaries has been trained, assessed, and certified. Out of these, 11,553 candidates have secured employment, reflecting a placement rate of approximately 82%.
