Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government of Telangana has requested the Union Government to approve projects
and financially assist and create State-of-the art infrastructure, nurturing a skilled workforce and
offering attractive incentives to attract global semiconductor mission and also requested for inclusion
of Projects from Advanced systems in Package technologies and crystal matrix, which are currently
under evaluation by India Semiconductor Mission;
(b) whether the Government has been requested to include Telangana as a prospective State under India
Semiconductor Mission; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Union Government thereon till date along with
the details of funds sanctioned and spent therefor?

(a) to (c): Government of India launched Semicon India program for the development of a sustainable
semiconductor and display ecosystem.
Semicon India programme is a pan India programme and the applicants are free to choose locations for
their projects. Their applications are solely evaluated on technical and financial aspects by a committee
comprising of domain experts.
Government has undertaken various initiatives to support electronics and semiconductor ecosystem
across the country including in Telangana.
Under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, three (3) companies in the State of Telangana are
being supported. Design infrastructure support has also been extended to eleven (11) companies in
Telangana. Moreover, under Chips to start-up programme(C2S), 22 institutes from Telangana are being
supported with design tools, and 6 institutes are being provided financial support. The details of
beneficiaries in the State of Telangana are Annexed.
