INSPECTION OF FUEL CONTROL SWITCH IN FLIGHTS
376. SHRI C. VE. SHANMUGAM
Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-
(a) whether it is a fact that Government has directed all airline operators to complete
inspection of the locking mechanism of the fuel control switch on their fleet;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the airline operators have complied with these directives; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

REGARDING "INSPECTION OF FUEL CONTROL SWITCH IN FLIGHTS" BY SHRI C.
VE. SHANMUGAM
(a) to (d): In July 2025, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued an order
mandating all applicable operators to inspect the locking mechanism of the fuel control
switch on the Boeing fleet of aircraft in the country as per Special Airworthiness Information
Bulletin (SAIB) NM-18-33 issued by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Airlines
operators have carried out the required inspections and all aircraft found satisfactory for
operation.
