Parliament Question: Introduction of International flights at Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur

SHRI DEVENDRA PRATAP SINGH Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) whether Government plans to introduce international flight operations at Swami Vivekananda airport, Raipur; (b) if so, the details of the proposed measures; (c) if not, the reasons for not implementing such measures; and (d) the steps being considered to enhance connectivity through Swami Vivekananda airport in Raipur? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (d): Swami Vivekananda airport of Raipur is a domestic airport of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and therefore international flights cannot operate to/from Raipur. However, Raipur is connected to major airports in India from where International flights operate. ******
