ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI (SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY) (a) Progress made and central assistance released to the State of Punjab in last five years under different components of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) is given below. Further, 19,941 hectare area in Punjab has been brought under micro irrigation under PDMC during this period. Government of Punjab has informed that about 98% of the cultivated area in Punjab is already under assured surface and sub-surface irrigation and large scale prevalence of paddy–wheat cropping system in Punjab limits the adoption of micro-irrigation by farmers in the State. ***** 2
