HEMANG JOSHI: SHRIMUKESHRAJPUT: Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate: (a) the number of Ayushman cards issued to eligible beneficiaries under AB-PMJAY across the country, State/UT-wise alongwith the district-wise total number of beneficiaries in Shahdol Lok SabhaConstituency; (b) whether the Government has observed/recorded any increase in the utilization of the scheme during the last two yearsand,if so, the details thereof; (c)the steps taken/proposed tobe taken bythe Government to ensure saturation incard creationand service utilization inaspirational districts andtribal areasof the country; (d) whether the Government has launched any awareness drives/campaigns to promote the use of Ayushman cards and to enable beneficiaries to avail treatment at empanelled hospitals across the country; (e)if so, the detailsthereof; and (f) the total number of beneficiaries empanelled under the scheme for the State of Karnataka, district-wise, especially for Chikkaballapur? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE (SHRIJAGATPRAKASH NADDA) (a) to(f) AStatementislaidonthe Tableof the House.STATEMENTREFERRED TO IN REPLYTO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 294 FOR8THAUGUST,2025 Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is a flagship scheme of the Government which provideshealth cover of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to 12 crore families constituting economically vulnerable bottom 40% of India’s population. In October 2024, the scheme has been expanded to cover 6 crore senior citizens of age 70 years and above belonging to 4.5 crore families, irrespective of their socio-economic status, through Vay Vandanacard. State/UT-wise details of number of Ayushman cards created under AB-PMJAY are at Annexure-I.Details of number of Ayushman cards created in the districts under Shahdol Lok SabhaConstituency are at Annexure-II. A significant increase in utilisation of the scheme has been observed, with the number of authorised hospital admissions rising from 1.98crore inFY2023–24to2.42crore inFY2024–25. AB-PMJAY has a comprehensive media and outreach strategy to spread awareness and empower beneficiaries for their rightsand entitlements.This includes advertisement over traditional media platforms including newspapers, community radio, street plays, digital displays, radio campaigns,mass messaging, telecast of beneficiarytestimonialsvia Doordarshan, etc. Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras (PMAMs) are deployed at empanelled hospitals to guide the scheme beneficiaries and provide information related to prompt treatment by interfacing with the treating doctors / caregivers. PMJAYkiosks have also been installedat hospitals asthe first point of contactfor facilitating awareness andoverallsupport of beneficiaries. In addition to this, State Health Agencies have also engaged the wide network of frontline workers i.e., ASHAs, AWWs and VLEs (Village level Entrepreneurs) who are pivotal in creating mass awareness at the grassroot level. In addition to this, beneficiaries can call the 24x7 call centre (14555) for anyassistance/queries. Hospitals empanelled under AB-PMJAY in Aspirational Districts are eligible for an additional10% incentive onthe treatmentsprovided.
