(a): The details of funds under Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK) in West Bengal
are placedat Annexure-I.
(b): Under NHM, support is provided to all States/UTs including West Bengal for
strengthening their healthcare system, based on the requirements proposed by them in State
ProgrammeImplementation Plans(SPIP)andavailable resources.
(c): The number of beneficiaries covered under the JSSK in West Bengal during FY2024-25
isplacedat Annexure-II.
(d): The Government assesses the implementation of central schemes, including JSSK under
NHM by undertaking periodic Regional/State level review meetings, field visits in various
States/UTs and Common Review Missions (CRMs). Further, the Government of India has
taken the following steps for effective implementation and strengthening of central schemes
across all States and UTs, including West Bengal, for improving maternal and child health
outcomes:
Communications through multiple channels with State Governments including letters
andvideoconferencing. Popularizing the Scheme through Information, Education & Communication (IEC) &
BehaviourChange Communication (BCC) strategies, includingmass media.
Field-level workers like ANMs, ASHAs, and CHOs are promoting this programme at
the ground levelthrough interpersonal communication.
Regular review and monitoring of the key JSSK indicators from Health Management
InformationSystem(HMIS).
Asystem of regular supportive supervisory visits to the states and districts to monitor
the implementation of JSSKisinplace.
