Will the Minister of HEALTH & FAMILYWELFARE be pleasedtostate:
(a) the details of the reasons for delays in the release of key health indicators, such as the
latest National Family Health Survey (NFHS) data and Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR)
updates, asof 2025;
(b) the steps being taken by the Government to ensure timely and transparent
dissemination of critical health data to support evidence-based policymaking and public
healthinitiatives; and
(c) the details of the impact of the aforementioned delays on initiatives such as the
Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health Plus Nutrition (RMNCAH+N)
strategy?

(a) to (c) The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) conducts an integrated
survey namely National Family Health Survey (NFHS). The survey provides data on health
and family welfare and associated domains like characteristics of the population; fertility and
fertility preferences; family planning; maternal and child health; nutrition; morbidity and
healthcare; women’s empowerment, etc. The National and State/UT Fact Sheets of sixth
round of NFHS (2023-24) were released on 29.05.2026. The Fact Sheets are available in the

Sample Registration System (SRS) of Office of the Registrar General & Census
Commissioner of India is a large-scale demographic survey that providesestimates of various
fertility and mortality indicators at National and subnational levels. Maternal Mortality Ratio
(MMR) is one of the indicators which results from Sample Registration system (SRS). The
SRS is one of the world's largest demographic survey covering around 89 lakhs populationspread across 36 States/UTs in the country.The latest Sample Registration System (SRS)-
Special Bulletin on Maternal Mortality in India 2022-24 released in May 2026 by the
Registrar General of India. The latest publication is for the period 2022-24 and may be
accessed from the following link:

The Ministry timelydisseminates NFHSdata byconductingregularfollow-ups with the nodal
agency and regular meetings at higher levels to monitor progress and oversee intermediary
steps.
Under National Health Mission, Government of India,the childhealth, adolescent health,and
nutrition interventions are universally implemented and routinely monitored under the
RMNCAH+N strategy of the National Health Mission, irrespective of the timing of the
release of anyreport.
