Parliament Question: Krishna-Pennar River Link

Shri BALASHOWRY VALLABHANENI: Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state: (a) the time by which the feasibility report of the Krishna (Nagarjunasagar)- Pennar (Somasila) Link, which benefits Andhra Pradesh, would be completed; (b) the details of the next stage of action and the time by which the next stage is likely to start and be completed; and (c) whether any timelines have been given to complete the above link and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI (SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY) (a) The Feasibility Report of the Krishna (Nagarjunasagar)–Pennar (Somasila) Link was completed in January 2022. (b) & (c) The Krishna (Nagarjunasagar)–Pennar (Somasila) Link forms part of the Godavari (Inchampalli)–Cauvery Link Project, which includes the following three link proposals:  Godavari (Inchampalli)–Krishna (Nagarjunasagar) Link, 1 Krishna (Nagarjunasagar)–Pennar (Somasila) Link,  Pennar (Somasila)–Palar–Cauvery Link. The Detailed Project Report of the Godavari (Inchampalli)–Cauvery Link Project has been prepared by the National Water Development Agency and circulated to the party States in January 2024 and six inter-State consultation meetings have been held so far to facilitate consensus-building among the concerned States. ***** 2
