Parliament Question: Labour Welfare and Employment Schemes in Telangana

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 5910 TO BE ANSWERED ON 30.03.2026 LABOUR WELFARE AND EMPLOYMENT SCHEMES IN TELANGANA 5910. SHRI ARVIND DHARMAPURI: Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state: (a) the details of number of workers registered under Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) in Telangana during the last five years and the current year, year and district-wise, particularly in Nizamabad Lok Sabha Constituency; (b) the details of number of beneficiaries covered and labour welfare schemes implemented by the State Government in Telangana, district-wise; (c) whether any labour facilitation centres, employment services or awareness programmes have been conducted in Telangana to promote formalisation of employment and social security coverage; and (d) whether the Government has any plans to expand labour welfare infrastructure or employment support initiatives and if so, the details and the timeline thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE) (a) to (d): The Contributing members in Telangana during the last five years and the current year, year and district-wise, particularly in Nizamabad Lok Sabha Constituency under Employee’s Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is enclosed in Annexure-A and under Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is attached at Annexure-B. EPFO and ESIC have extensively conducted various labour facilitation, employment outreach, and awareness programmes in Telangana to promote formalisation of employment and expansion of social security coverage. Contd..2/-::2:: EPFO conducts awareness and outreach programme/camp ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat’ (NAN) in each district under the jurisdiction at a pre-decided location near Industrial clusters on 27th of every month. In these camps, the employees are informed about their social security rights and obligations. Employers are also facilitated in getting social security coverage for their employees. In the Financial Year 2025-26, 439 NAN camps have been conducted by various Regional Offices in Telangana Zone. Ministry of Labour & Employment has launched PMVBRY Scheme to monetarily incentivize first-time employees and also to incentivize employers for generating employment. As on 23.03.2026, Regional Offices in Telangana Zone conducted 1,954 webinars, seminars, and workshops, along with 1,697 press briefings, newspaper coverage, and social media campaigns under PMVBRY outreach. Sector-specific campaigns were undertaken in major industry clusters such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, MSMEs, leather and footwear, rubber and plastics, and food processing. EPFO has launched Employees Enrolment Campaign (EEC) 2025. Under this scheme, the employer can enroll those employees with EPFO who could not be enrolled as member of EPF due to any reason. Under the EEC 2025 campaign, 625 focused webinars and meetings were conducted in Telangana with employers and employees. The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) also, regularly undertakes sustained initiatives to create awareness about the benefits available under the ESI Scheme in labour intensive areas. At the local level, regular outreach activities are carried out by the ESIC Field Units to directly engage employers and workers. ESIC also observes a Special Services Fortnight every year in February, during which field offices and hospitals, including those in Telangana, organize awareness camps, seminars, grievance-redressal programmes, health talks and health screening camps for insured workers and their dependents. ESIC has launched a scheme named SPREE 2025 (Scheme for Promotion of Registration of Employers and Employees) from 01- 07-2025 to 31-01- 2026. This scheme offers a one-time opportunity for employers to register themselves (as employers) and their employees who may have been inadvertently left out from ESI coverage without concern for retrospective coverage or punitive actions. Further, during SPREE (Scheme for Promotion of Registration of Employers and Employees), ESIC undertook an extensive, multilingual and multi-channel pan India awareness campaign through press releases, digital outreach, print, outdoor and radio publicity, and direct field-level interactions to encourage voluntary registration and expand social security coverage from 01 July 2025 to 31 January 2026. ** *****ANNEXURE-A CONTRIBUTING MEMBER UNDER EPFO in TELANGANA STATE FY 2025-26 Sl.
