LAND ACQUISITION STATUS OF SILIGURI-GUWAHATI ACCESS-CONTROLLED
CORRIDOR
593. SHRI SAMIK BHATTACHARYA:
Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state:-
(a) the present status of the Siliguri–Guwahati access-controlled corridor being implemented by the
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, including package-wise
progress;
(b) the total land required for the project and the extent of land acquired to date in West Bengal and
Assam, State-wise and district-wise;
(c) the key issues affecting land acquisition, including forest diversion, wildlife clearances,
rehabilitation and coordination with State authorities;
(d) the funds sanctioned and released for land acquisition and construction during the last three
years; and
(e) revised timelines for completion of remaining land acquisition and commissioning of the
corridor, highlighting its strategic importance for North-East connectivity?

(a) National Highways Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NHIDCL) has appointed a
Consultant for preparation of Detailed Project Report for High Speed Access Controlled Corridor from
Siliguri to Guwahati.
(b) to (e) The requirement of land acquisition clearances, cost and timelines can be assessed after
finalization of alignment.
