SHRI SAMIK BHATTACHARYA: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state:- (a) the present status of the Siliguri–Guwahati access-controlled corridor being implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, including package-wise progress; (b) the total land required for the project and the extent of land acquired to date in West Bengal and Assam, State-wise and district-wise; (c) the key issues affecting land acquisition, including forest diversion, wildlife clearances, rehabilitation and coordination with State authorities; (d) the funds sanctioned and released for land acquisition and construction during the last three years; and (e) revised timelines for completion of remaining land acquisition and commissioning of the corridor, highlighting its strategic importance for North-East connectivity? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) National Highways Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NHIDCL) has appointed a Consultant for preparation of Detailed Project Report for High Speed Access Controlled Corridor from Siliguri to Guwahati.
