ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI
(SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY)
(a) to (c) Two (02) major irrigation projects of Uttarakhand namely Jamrani Dam Project and Lakhwar
Multipurpose Project have been included under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna-Accelerated
Irrigation Benefits Programme for central assistance. Physical progress under these projects are 21% and
14% respectively.
In addition, two (02) clusters of 1,066 surface minor irrigation projects of Uttarakhand have been
included under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna-Har Khet Ko Paani-Surface Minor Irrigation
Programme for central assistance. 772 projects have been reported as completed by Government of
Uttarakhand.
To expedite completion of these projects regular monitoring of physical and financial progress is
carried out through review meetings and field inspections to address implementation bottlenecks. States are
encouraged to adopt modern technologies and improved project management practices for faster execution.
In addition, closer coordination between the Centre and State Governments is ensured to resolve issues and
facilitate timely completion of projects.
