Parliament Question: MMTS Trains from Secunderabad to Ghatkesar

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 5295 TO BE ANSWERED ON 25.03.2026 MMTS TRAINS FROM SECUNDERABAD TO GHATKESAR 5295. SHRI EATALA RAJENDER: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware that there are only a few MMTS (Multi- Modal Transport System) trains that travel from Secunderabad to Ghatkesar via Cherlapally in Hyderabad and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether it is a fact that due to less number of frequency on the said route, the passengers are facing various difficulties in catching the trains from Cherlapally to various destinations due to the renovation and repair work being undertaken in Secunderabad railway station and sometimes many passengers are unable to catch their trains on time as there is no proper connectivity to reach Cherlapally railway station as many trains are now being operated from Cherlapally and if so, the details thereof; and (c) the details of the steps taken/being taken by the Government to increase the frequency of MMTS trains by at least running one train for every one hour from Secunderabad to Ghatkesar vice versa via Cherlapally so that it can be useful to the passengers to catch the trains from Cherlapally railway station? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (c) MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) train services are presently operated in the Hyderabad sub-urban section, including the corridor between Secunderabad Station and Ghatkesar Station via Charlapalli Station. The train services on this section are operated based on operational feasibility, availability of paths, traffic demand, availability of required rolling stock etc. § Page 1 of 4At present, 08 MEMU and Express train services are catering to the needs of Secunderabad-Charlapalli-Ghatkesar sector.
