(a) the details of the number of Model Career Centres (MCCs)
established under the National Career Service (NCS) project in
Tamil Nadu;
(b) the details of the objectives and key services provided by these
MCCs to job seekers in Tamil Nadu;
(c) the details of the total number of job seekers registered and placed
through MCCs in Tamil Nadu during the last two years;
(d) whether the career counselling and skill development programmes
are being regularly organized by the Government in these centres
and if so, the details thereof including outreach in rural and semi-
urban areas;
(e) the details of the number of job fairs or placement drives organized
by the Model Career Centres in Tamil Nadu during FY 2023-24 and
2024-25;
(f) the details of the number of candidates received job offers through
these events; and
(g) the steps taken by the Government to increase participation of
women and marginalised groups in the said job fairs?

(a) to (g): Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India is
running the National Career Service (NCS) Portal which is a one-stop
solution for providing career related services including information on
jobs from private and government sectors, information on online &
offline job fairs, job search & matching, career counselling, vocational
guidance, information on skill development courses, employability
enhancement programmes etc. through a digital
platform[www.ncs.gov.in].One of the objectives of the NCS scheme is to transform the
employment exchanges to Model Career Centres (MCCs). These centres
connect local youth and other job- seekers with job opportunities
through use of technology as well as career counselling and training. As
such these Model Career Centres (MCCs) act as a hub for organizing job
fairs, mobilising the employers, providing career counselling at local
level etc. in collaboration with States and other institutions for the
jobseekers and employers through outreach activities. Till date, 20
Model Career Centres have been approved in the State of Tamil Nadu.
During the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25, more than 7.6
lakh jobseekers have registered on NCS portal in the state of Tamil Nadu
(including in MCCs). Also, a total of 515 job fairs have been organized.
Notifying final hiring figures is not a mandatory requirement on NCS
portal, however, more than 25,000 jobseekers (including women and
marginalized groups) have been shortlisted during the job fairs in the
same period.
Further, NCS Portal also provides online/offline career counselling
and vocational guidance services to its registered users (including in
rural and semi-urban areas). More than 1182 Career Counsellors have
been on boarded on NCS portal. Till date more than 41 lakh online/ offline
career guidance sessions have been conducted.
NCS portal is integrated with Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) that is
specially designed and developed to skill, reskill and upskill individuals
through an online training platform for jobs and entrepreneurial
opportunities. The integration of NCS Portal with SIDH has paved the
way for the skilled jobseekers (employed/unemployed) on SIDH to avail
the benefits of NCS Portal and the jobseekers (employed/unemployed) to
avail the skilling services offered by SIDH.
In addition, Government is implementing Skill India Mission (SIM)
to deliver skill, re-skill and up-skill training through an extensive network
of skill development centres/ schools/ colleges /institutes etc. under
various schemes, viz. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY),
Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), National Apprenticeship Promotion
Scheme (NAPS) and Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) through Industrial
Training Institutes (ITIs). The SIM aims at enabling youth of India to get
future ready, equipped with industry relevant skills.
