initiativeof the VikshitBharat Mission;
(b) whether the Students of the said schools participate in the programmes organized by the
Gram Sabhas;
(c)if so, the numberof students participating inthe said programmes, Panchayat-wise;
(d) whether the Government schools inBihar have also beencoveredunderthismission; and

(a) to (c):The Model Youth Gram Sabha (MYGS) is an experiential simulation of grassroots
democracy in schools, wherein schools conduct mock Gram Sabha sessions involving
students in agenda setting, deliberation, budgeting, and the passing of resolutions, closely
mirroring real Gram Sabha procedures. The initiative provides practical exposure to students
aboutlocal governance and nurtures informed, responsible, and participative future citizens.
In the State of Bihar, 38 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) have been covered under the
MYGS initiative. Students from these schools have participated in MYGS related activities
conducted within their schools, specifically designed to familiarise them with the functioning
of Gram Sabhas inparticular andPanchayati Raj Institutions in general.The list of schools in
Bihar covered under the MYGS initiative, along with the number of students who
participatedisplaced at Annexure-I.
(d) & (e):The Ministry has launched the Model Youth Gram Sabha (MYGS) initiative in
collaborationwith the Department of SchoolEducation& Literacy (DoSEL)andthe Ministry
of Tribal Affairs (MoTA). The initiative has been implemented in 619 Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalayas (JNVs) and 200 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) across the country.
The implementation of this initiative in State Government schools is subject to the interest
