Intensified TB case-finding among vulnerable populations through Ayushman Arogya

Disease Management involving early case detection with active, passive and sentinel
surveillance followed by complete andeffective treatment, strengthening of referral services,

Convergence andHuman Resource Developmentthrough capacitybuilding.
Throughthe IntegratedDisease SurveillanceProgramme(IDSP)andNational Centerfor
Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC), the Government regularly monitors the disease
situation & outbreaks for diseases like Dengue, Swine Flu, Nipah, etc through the reports
submitted by the States/UTs. Every State has designated laboratories like District Public Health
Laboratories (DPHLs), State Referral Laboratories (SRLs) under IDSP for investigation andsurveillance of these diseases.Regularreviews are conductedandRapidResponse Teams(RRTs)
are deployed,incases of outbreaks.
The Government provides technical and financial support to the States/UTs under the
National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD).
The programme focuses on strengthening infrastructure, human resource development, early
diagnosis, referral for treatment and management and health promotion including life style
diseases.
Under NP-NCD, 770District NCD Clinics, 372District Day Care Centresand6410 Community
HealthCentre NCD Clinicshasbeenset up.
Apopulation-based initiative for prevention, control andscreening for common NCDs including
lifestyle diseases has been rolled out in the country under National Health Mission (NHM) as a
part of Comprehensive Primary HealthCare.
The StatesandUTs have beeninstructed totake proactive steps to:
Ensure that two dedicated days per week are earmarked for NCD screening activities at
Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs).
All individuals flagged as overweight or obese should be clearly identified for follow-up,
providedcounselling onlifestyle modification,healthydiets, physical activity andyoga.
Ensure prominent display of “Oil andSugar Boards” (static/ digital) inhealthfacilities such
as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, PHCs, CHCs, DHs, Sub- divisional and district offices and

Leverage ongoing IEC/BCC campaigns and outreach under NP-NCD to promote awareness
aroundhealthydietarypractices.
Sensitize school teachers and children on healthy diet and reduced sugar/oil intake during
healthscreening andcounseling activitiesbyRBSKteam.
LeverageCommunityEngagement PlatformsunderNHM such asMahila Arogya Samitis
(MAS), Jan Arogya Samitis(JAS) andVillage Health Sanitation& Nutrition Days to
