National Youth Corps Scheme

Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of National Youth Volunteers deployed across
the country under the National Youth Corps Scheme, State/UT-wise;
(b) the primary duties and responsibilities assigned to these
volunteers; and
(c) whether any financial remuneration or amount is provided to
these volunteers?

(a) As on date, a total of 5,465 MY Bharat Youth Volunteers (erstwhile
National Youth Volunteers) are deployed across the country under
the National Youth Corps (NYC) Scheme. The State-wise/ UT-wise
details of MY Bharat Youth Volunteers are as under:

(b) MY Bharat Youth Volunteers act as a link between Youth Clubs,
local communities, district MY Bharat offices and various
Government departments. They are responsible for motivating and
revitalising Youth Clubs at the village/community level and facilitate
the implementation of MY Bharat core programmes, special
programmes and coordination programmes, besides supporting
outreach, awareness generation and community mobilization
activities.
(c) Yes. An honorarium of ₹5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) per
month is provided to each MY Bharat Youth Volunteer under the
National Youth Corps (NYC) Scheme.
