SHRI RAJEEV RAI: Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has details of National Cadet Corps (NCC) units existing in Uttar Pradesh; (b) if so, the details thereof, district-wise; (c) whether the Government proposes to expand NCC units in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in the districts having no units; (d) if so, the details thereof including the Mau and Ballia districts in Uttar Pradesh; and (e) the details of the incentives and job opportunities provided by the Government to NCC cadets in other services, educational institutions etc.? A N S W E R MINISTER OF STATE (SHRI SANJAY SETH) IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE (a) to (d) Yes Sir, there are presently 110 NCC units in Uttar Pradesh located in 48 Districts including 2 units in Ballia i.e. 90 UP Battalian NCC and 93 UP Battalion NCC. These 110 NCC units are providing NCC training to various educational institutes spread across 75 Districts of Uttar Pradesh. District-wise details of 110 NCC units are at Annexure. There is no proposal to establish new NCC Units in Uttar Pradesh. (e) NCC Certificate holders are given incentives in officer entry in the Armed Forces like exemption from written examinations, bonus marks for recruitment in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assam Rifles.
