SHRI LAVU SRI KRISHNA DEVARAYALU: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has received any proposal/representation for the construction of a new railway line connecting Savalyapuram and Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh; (b) if so, the details thereof and the present status of the said proposal; (c) whether the Government proposes to undertake a feasibility survey/Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Savalyapuram–Bapatla railway line, considering its potential to decongest the Guntur– Vijayawada section and improve connectivity between Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and the eastern coastal region and if so, the details thereof; (d) whether the Government has assessed the economic, freight, tourism and passenger potential of the proposed line, particularly for agricultural produce, mineral transport and pilgrimage traffic to Kotappakonda (Sri Trikoteswara Swamy Temple); and (e) if so, the details thereof including the timeline proposed for initiating further action on the project? To decongest Guntur-Vijayawada double line section and to improve connectivity in the region, following projects have been taken up: Name of project Cost Status (Cr.) Errupalem-Amravati- 2,047 The project has been sanctioned and Namburu new line land acquisition has been taken up. (57 Km) Kotipalli-Narsapur new 2,120 The project has been sanctioned and line (57 Km) land acquisition and works on important bridges have been taken up. Guntur- Bibinagar 2,853 The project has been sanctioned and doubling (239 Km) work has been taken up.
