GOVERNMENTOFINDIA MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE DEPARTMENTOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE LOK SABHA UNSTARREDQUESTION NO. 2406 TOBE ANSWERED ON13THFEBRUARY,2026 NON-EMPANELMENTOFPRIVATEHOSPITALS UNDER CGHS SCHEME †2406 SHRIBHAUSAHEB RAJARAM WAKCHAURE: Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleased tostate: (a) whether it is a fact that no private hospital is empanelled under the CGHS scheme in Ahmednagar, Solapur, Kolhapur, Amravati Sangli districts of Maharashtra and in the State of Goa, if so, the detailsthereof; (b) whether it is a fact that due to this reason more than five lakh CGHS beneficiaries especially senior citizens and pensioners from these areas have to go to Mumbai, Pune, Nashik or Aurangabadfor treatment,if so,the detailsthereof; (c) whether the Government has received any representation in this regard from Sanchar Nigam PensionersWelfareAssociation, Maharashtra Circle; and (d) if so, the concrete steps being taken bythe Government to include private hospitals in CGHS panelinthe concerned districts of Maharashtra andGoa? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (d) : Empanelment of Private Hospitals under CGHS is a voluntary process. Intending Private Hospitals may apply for empanelment under the Scheme. Private Hospitals fulfilling the laiddown criteria get empanelledunderthe scheme. In state of Goa, one eye hospital namely "ASG Eye Hospital" & one laboratory named "Metropolis" are empaneled with CGHS. Further, 02 Hospitals namely Patil Hospital and Anandrishji Hospital & Research Centre in the district of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra and 01hospital namelyDeshmukh Eye Hospital inthe district of Amravati, Maharashtra, are empaneled underCS(MA) Rules, 1944. Beneficiaries can avail CGHS facilities from nearby CGHS covered cities through 50 Wellness Centers across Maharashtra and Goa. In addition; the beneficiaries can avail the services of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur, Government Medical Colleges and District Hospitals functioning in these regions for all the medical needs. In case of anemergency,the beneficiaries are entitledtoclaimmedical reimbursement for treatment. MoHFW has issued fresh empanelment guidelines vide OM F. No. 5- 34/CGHS/HEC(HQ)/2025 dated 22.12.2025enabling empanelment of private hospitals in all district headquartersacross the country. *****
