Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) the details of total number of Khelo India Centres (KICs) and Khelo
India State Centres of Excellence (KISCEs) sanctioned and operational
in Bihar;
(b) the specific number of KICs sanctioned for the Jamui Lok Sabha
Constituency along with their locations and the sports disciplines they
cover;
(c) the total funds released for the said centres in Jamui along with the
status of procurement of sports equipment and appointment of coaches;
(d) the mechanism in place to monitor the functioning and performance
of athletes at these KICs; and
(e) the steps being taken by the Government to ensure that talented
athletes from remote areas of Jamui are identified and trained at the
said centres?

(KIC) and Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCE) along with
funds released for these centres, across the country, including in the
State of Bihar, are available in the public domain on the dashboard of the
Ministry at https://dashboard.kheloindia.gov.in.

athletes trained therein. The designated Khelo India Nodal Officers
conduct periodic visits to each Centre to review key parameters such as
the operational arrangements, availability and condition of sports
equipment, training environment, and the progress and achievements of
the athletes. The Centres are evaluated on multiple qualitative and
quantitative indicators to ensure adherence to prescribed standards and
to enable continuous improvement.
(e) To ensure that talented athletes from remote areas of the country,
including from Jamui, are identified and provided structured training, a
Khelo India Centre has been notified in the district. The Centre functions
under the supervision of a Past Champion Athlete, who is responsible for
systematically scouting local talent, conducting regular training
sessions, and providing athletes with access to standardised coaching
and sports equipment.
