Parliament Question: Odisha Cultural Centre and Heritage Library

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CULTURE RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO-4360 ANSWERED ON- 02/04/2026 ODISHA CULTURAL CENTRE AND HERITAGE LIBRARY 4360. SHRI MANAS RANJAN MANGARAJ: Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) whether the Ministry has received any proposal from Government of Odisha for creation of a dedicated Odisha Cultural Centre and Heritage Library in New Delhi; (b) if so, the details thereof and the present status of examination/approval of the proposal; (c) if not, whether the Ministry proposes to support such an initiative under any Central scheme or through collaboration with Government of Odisha; and (d) the timeline by which the said Cultural Centre and Heritage Library is likely to be established? ANSWER MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) & (b) No proposal from Government of Odisha for creation of a dedicated Odisha Cultural Centre and Heritage Library in New Delhi has been received in the Ministry. However, the Government of India has set up North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) at Prayagraj to protect, promote and preserve various forms of folk arts and culture of its member States. Delhi is the member State of NCZCC, Prayagraj and they organize various cultural activities and programmes in its member States including NCT of Delhi. (c) No such proposal is under the consideration of Government. (d) Does not arise. *****
