Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is aware that the train number 03215/03216
operating between Thawe-Patna Junction has been stopped without any
prior notice and if so, the reasons therefor;
(b) whether the decision is permanent or temporary; and
(c) whether the Government has also been apprised that the closure of
the said train which is being used to facilitate education, medical
treatment of patients, commercial activities by businessmen and general
passengers and devotees from Gopalganj and surrounding areas has
caused serious economic, academic and health issues and if so, the
details thereof?

(a) to (c) Indian Railways constantly endeavours to cater to the needs of
travelling passengers and to this end, new services are introduced, existing
train services are extended and their frequency increased.
Moreover, to supplement the accommodation available by regular services
and to cater to the extra rush of passengers during peak seasons, festivals,
religious congregations etc., Indian Railways also operates special trains
and augments the loads of existing services, keeping in view the pattern of
traffic, commercial justification, operational feasibility and availability of
resources etc. Accordingly, 03215/03216 Patna-Thawe Special was operated
till 30.11.2025.
Presently, Thawe is served by 34 train services including the daily service of
15079/15080 Patliputra-Gorakhpur Express providing connectivity to Patna.
