Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleasedtostate:
(a) the details of departments which are in operation in AIIMS Guwahati in its full strength with
logistic/equipments requiredfor the department;
(b) what are those medical departmentswhich are yet tobe operationalin full strength in
AIIMS Guwahati, the detailsthereof;
(c) whether all medical equipment/ machinery procured for AIIMS Guwahati are presently
functioningor lyingunutilised till now,the reasons therefor; and
(d) thedetailsof sanctionedandinpositionstrengths ofDoctors invariousranksinAIIMS Guwahati,
department-wise?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE
(SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a) to (d) All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati has been set up under Pradhan
Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). In the Institute, currently 37 Departments (including
specialty and super specialty) are functional. Details of operational and yet to be made operational
Departmentsalongwith availability of Faculty/Residentsisat Annexure.
Currently, 326 medical equipments includedin the projecthave beenprocured, installed and
are functional at AIIMS, Guwahati. The procurement, installation and operationalization of medical
equipment is a continuous process, contingent on site readiness, statutory clearances, availability of
facultyandtechnical manpower,etc.
