Kishori Lal: Prof. Sougata Ray: Will the Minister of Corporate Affairs be pleased to state: a) whether the Government has launched or proposes to operationalise the Corporate Data Management (CDM) Portal for greater transparency in corporate information, if so, the details thereof; b) the objectives and features of the portal; c) the categories of corporate data proposed to be made available to the public; and d) the safeguards adopted to protect confidential and sensitive corporate information? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE OF THE MINISTRY OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS AND MINISTRY of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS; (SHRI HARSH MALHOTRA) (a) to (c) – The Corporate Data Management (CDM) Public Portal, launched in January 2018, serves as the Ministry's dedicated platform for the structured dissemination of shareable corporate information of Ministry of Corporate Affairs(MCA). The portal hosts updated and comprehensive information relating to Companies registered with MCA including foreign companies and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs). The CDM data base provides geographic/sectoral spread, insights on corporate professionals, Corporate Social Responsibility details etc, based on statutory filings made under the Companies Act. It also provides analytical dashboards and corporate statistics, thereby promoting transparency, evidence-based research, and informed policy formulation. (d) The sharing, processing, and dissemination of corporate information is carried out as per the provisions regarding maintaining confidentiality under the applicable Laws.
