Shri Pushpendra Saroj: Will the Minister of CORPORATE AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the number of internship opportunities provided in Uttar Pradesh under the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) since its inception, district-wise; (b) the sectors under which these internship opportunities have been posted and the number of companies that have participated in the scheme by posting such opportunities in the State of Uttar Pradesh; and (c) the district-wise number of internship offers made in Uttar Pradesh under the Scheme along with the number of beneficiaries belonging to the OBC, SC and ST categories? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE OF THE MINISTRY OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS AND MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS [SHRI HARSH MALHOTRA] (a): The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) was announced in the Budget 2024-25. It aims to provide internship opportunities to one crore youth in top 500 companies in five years. As an initiation to this Scheme, a Pilot Project of the Scheme targeted at providing 1.25 lakh internship opportunities in one year has been launched on 03.10.2024. In the first round of the Pilot Project, which commenced from 3rd October, 2024, more than 9000 internship opportunities were provided by the partner companies in Uttar Pradesh. The second round of the PM Internship Scheme Pilot Project commenced on 9th January, 2025. In this Round, the partner companies have posted over 7,700 internship opportunities (new and edited unfilled opportunities of previous round) in Uttar Pradesh.District wise internship opportunities provided by the partner companies in Round I and Round II in the state of Uttar Pradesh is enclosed at Annexure - I. (b): List of the partner companies covers a large number of diverse sectors like Aviation and Defence, Automotive, Banking and Financial Services, Chemical Industry, Oil, Gas and Energy and roles in different areas such as sales, accounting, supply chain management, process associate, manufacturing associate and plant operation etc. The list of the partner companies is available on https://pminternship.mca.gov.in. In Round I and Round II of the Pilot Project, over 115 companies have posted internship opportunities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. (c): In the Round I of the PMIS Pilot Project, partner companies had made over 82,000 internship offers across the country, out of which over 11,500 internship offers were made to the candidates belonging to the state of Uttar Pradesh. In the Round II of the PMIS Pilot Project, partner companies had made over 70,000 internship offers across the country, out of which over 6,200 internship offers were made to the candidates belonging to the state of Uttar Pradesh. Currently, rolling out of offers and the process of acceptances/ joining by interns in the Round II is in progress.
