GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 2347 TO BE ANSWERED ON 12TH MARCH, 2026 OUTCOMES OF NCS PORTAL 2347. SHRI SANJAY SINGH: Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state: (a) the number of job seekers registered and vacancies mobilised on National Career Service (NCS) portal during the last five years, year- wise; (b) the number of candidates who were provisionally shortlisted/selected through the portal and job fairs during that period, year-wise; (c) the number of candidates who have actually secured final employment/placement through the portal during that period, year- wise; (d) whether Government proposes to introduce a mandatory reporting mechanism for employers and job seekers to update final hiring status to ensure transparency; and (e) whether any third-party audit or impact assessment has been conducted to evaluate the actual placement rate of registered job seekers and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE) (a) to (e): As on 28.02.2026, more than 6.26 Crore jobseekers are registered and more than 8.94 crore vacancies have been mobilized on NCS portal since inception. Year-wise details of jobseekers registered and vacancy mobilized on NCS Portal may be seen at https://www.ncs.gov.in/_layouts/15/ncsp/ViewStaticReport.aspx Notifying final hiring figures is not a mandatory requirement on NCS Portal. However, number of jobseekers shortlisted through the job fairs during the last five years are as under: Year 2020-2021 2021-2022 2022-2023 2023-2024 2024-2025 Jobseekers 6,58,709 89,336 1,60,608 2,95,308 2,86,028 shortlisted The Government undertakes a systematic review and evaluation of all schemes and programmes before the commencement of each Finance Commission cycle to ensure their continued relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with evolving priorities. *****
