PARKING FEES AT AIRPORTS

Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION
be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government is aware of the fact that hefty parking entry and
exit fees are being charged on vehicles coming for dropping and picking up
passengers at all airports across the country and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government has received any complaints in this regard to
withdraw levying of entry/exit fees for those vehicles coming to airport for
dropping and picking up passengers; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Airports do not impose any charges for vehicles coming for passenger
drop-off or pick-up upto specified time limit. However, to prevent congestion
and ensure passenger safety, overstay charges are levied at major airports if
vehicles remain stationary beyond the specified time limit. This is a standard
practice aimed at decongesting the kerbside, followed by airports including
those managed by Airports Authority of India (AAI). The measure
discourages prolonged halts, facilitates smooth vehicular flow, and plays a
vital role in maintaining safety, order, and operational efficiency outside the
terminal premises.
(b)&(c): A passenger complaint resolution mechanism is in place, through
which complaints are addressed and resolved by the respective airports in a
timely manner.
